
The Wing Panni People’s Defense Force has confirmed that resistance forces successfully ambushed reinforcement troops of the military council in Tanintharyi Township, Tanintharyi Region, resulting in military casualties and the seizure of weapons and ammunition. The clash occurred around 1 PM on February 25th when revolutionary forces intercepted military council troops near Tamut Chon village as they were moving from Tanintharyi town toward Theinkun village to reinforce their positions.
During the engagement, military council forces suffered casualties, and resistance forces captured various weapons and ammunition. The exact number of military council casualties and injuries is still being investigated, according to the Wing Panni People’s Defense Force. The operation was jointly carried out by Battalion 2 Company 2 of Myeik District and Zone 4 People’s Defense Force of Tanintharyi Township. All resistance fighters successfully withdrew from the area without any casualties after the successful operation.
Due to the ongoing military situation in Tanintharyi Township, the Wing Panni People’s Defense Force has issued a warning to local residents and travelers to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions for their safety. The resistance forces stated that they are closely monitoring military council movements and prioritizing civilian safety. They have affirmed their commitment to continue defending the people against military council aggression with maximum effort, as stated in their announcement.
