
The People’s Defense Force in Tanintharyi Township has confirmed that one member of the military council was killed during an attack on Light Infantry Battalion 558’s checkpoint in Tanintharyi Region. The attack occurred on April 16 at approximately 8:30 AM, targeting the military council’s checkpoint operated by LIB 558, which is based in Kammalein village, Tanintharyi Township. The engagement lasted about 20 minutes, resulting in one military council soldier being killed instantly, with additional casualties reported among their ranks.
Simultaneously, in Ye-U town of Sagaing Region, the People’s Defense Force successfully conducted a mine attack against military council troops who were conducting patrol operations. According to the spokesperson of the Ye-U Township People’s Defense Force (PDF), the attack took place on April 11 when revolutionary forces targeted military council soldiers patrolling near Zwethun Street in Aung Chan Thar ward of Ye-U town. While the exact number of casualties on the military council’s side could not be immediately confirmed, it was reported that all resistance fighters successfully withdrew from the area without suffering any casualties. The coordinated attacks demonstrate the ongoing resistance operations against military council forces across different regions of Myanmar.
