Resistance forces conducted a drone strike against military council troops who had entered and were disrupting Ngayan village in Chaung-U Township, Sagaing Region, resulting in reported casualties among military personnel. The attack, which took place around 1 PM on April 26, involved 13 drone-dropped bombs, according to a representative from the Myaung Drone Force (MDF) who confirmed the operation to local media.
During the engagement, while military council forces responded with both heavy and light weapons fire, resistance fighters were able to successfully withdraw from the area without sustaining any casualties. Although the exact number of casualties on the military council’s side could not be immediately confirmed, eyewitness reports indicated that military personnel were seen scrambling for cover and seeking shelter in nearby buildings during the attack. The operation demonstrated the increasing effectiveness of resistance forces’ drone warfare capabilities against military council positions.
The coordinated attack was carried out through the joint efforts of multiple resistance groups, including Sagaing District Battalion 1 Company 3, Monywa District PDF Drone Force, Myaung Drone Force (MDF), Bo Saklay Drone Strike team, Arman Thit (Nga Zone), Aung Thabyay Brothers Local PDF, Peacock Drone Team (Myaung), and Revolutionary Air Force (Myaung). The resistance forces stated that the operation was launched in response to reports from local residents about military council troops committing acts of violence and persecution against civilians in the area. This operation represents another instance of coordinated resistance efforts against military forces that continue to operate against civilian populations in various regions of Myanmar.
