
A spokesperson from Brave Warriors for Myanmar (BWM) has confirmed that a rocket attack on the Northwest Military Command Headquarters in Monywa, Sagaing Region, resulted in the death of five military council personnel, including two officers, and caused significant damage to fuel storage and spare parts warehouses. The attack was carried out at 10:10 PM on June 14 using three 107mm rockets, all of which successfully hit and detonated within the military headquarters compound.
The attack resulted in the immediate death of two officers and three other soldiers, while three additional officers and seven other military personnel sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the base’s medical facility. The strike also damaged the military operations office and training facility buildings within the Northwest Command Headquarters. Additionally, fuel storage facilities and spare parts warehouses were destroyed by fire, and a senior officer’s residence was also damaged in the attack.
The operation was conducted under the leadership of Brave Warriors for Myanmar in collaboration with allied forces including Shadow (Monywa), Golden Triangle Allied Battalion, and Justice Brothers Force. Following the attack, all officers, soldiers, and their family members residing within the regional command headquarters have been living in fear, and starting from the evening of June 15, the regional commander has ordered all lights to be turned off after 9 PM in all quarters, meeting rooms, and military offices. This information has been confirmed by military sources within the compound.
