
The Chaung-U People’s Defense Force (CHUPDF) has confirmed that two military council soldiers, including one officer, were killed when revolutionary forces conducted a drone strike on the military’s Myapyarlae outpost in Chaung-U Township, Sagaing Region. The attack took place around 5:30 PM on March 6, targeting the outpost located along the Monywa-Mandalay highway with two drone-dropped bombs.
During the attack, an artillery commander officer and another soldier who were having dinner inside the Myapyarlae outpost were killed, while five other soldiers were injured. The wounded soldiers were evacuated to Monywa city in two iron-plated vehicles at around 11:23 PM the same day. The bodies of the two deceased soldiers were given military funeral honors inside the Northwest Military Command headquarters at 10 AM on March 7, according to information from revolutionary forces.
In Tanintharyi Region, revolutionary forces also conducted a drone attack on the military council’s Infantry Battalion 558 in Tanintharyi Township, as reported by the Taung Pan Ni People’s Defense Force. The attack was carried out on March 1 through joint operations between Zone 4 and Zone 5 of the Tanintharyi Township People’s Defense Forces. While there were likely casualties among military council troops from the attack, the exact numbers could not be confirmed. The revolutionary forces were able to successfully withdraw from the operation without suffering any casualties.
