A spokesperson from the 4th Battalion of Shwebo District has confirmed that military council soldiers from the Nyaungpintha Agricultural School in Shwebo Township, Sagaing Region, were attacked while traveling by motorcycle. The incident occurred around 6:30 AM on July 22, when six military council soldiers stationed at the Nyaungpintha Agricultural School were traveling on three motorcycles along the Shwebo-Yeu road. Revolutionary forces from the 4th Battalion of Shwebo District conducted an ambush operation against these soldiers.
During the attack, four military council soldiers were killed, and revolutionary forces seized various weapons and ammunition, including one G-3 rifle, two ammunition magazines, 168 rounds of ammunition, one hand grenade, and other related military equipment. Additionally, when military reinforcements arrived at the scene, revolutionary forces launched drone attacks against them, resulting in approximately four more military council soldiers being wounded. The successful operation demonstrated the effectiveness of coordinated resistance efforts against military council forces in the region.
According to the official from the 4th Battalion of Shwebo District, the attack was made possible through careful surveillance of military council soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members based at the Nyaungpintha Agricultural School. The success of the operation was attributed to advance intelligence gathering and coordination with local civilians, who provided timely information about military council troop movements. This enabled the revolutionary forces to plan and execute an effective response to the military council’s activities in the area. The incident represents another significant blow to military council operations in the Sagaing Region, where resistance forces continue to maintain active opposition against the military regime.
