
The Daung Nyi Naung Military Column has confirmed that military council forces suffered casualties in clashes that occurred in Yantaing and Thinkun villages in Yayphyu Township, Dawei District, Tanintharyi Region. In the fighting that took place on September 7, five military council soldiers, including a warrant officer, were killed and two others were wounded.
The incident occurred when Warrant Officer Sai Wana Htay from Infantry Battalion 405 and his subordinates, including another officer and two soldiers, were traveling in a Honda Fit car toward Yayphyu when they were attacked by resistance forces. During this attack, one warrant officer was killed. Prior to this incident, military council troops had burned down civilian homes in Yantaing and Thinkun villages, according to local residents.
Shortly afterward, at around 4:25 PM, resistance forces launched another attack on a military council column that was moving on foot toward Thayethnigon village. This engagement resulted in the deaths of four more soldiers, while two others were wounded, including one who suffered severe injuries with lost limbs. This operation was jointly carried out by Column 1 of the Daung Nyi Naung forces and KNLA Battalion 12 Column 1. According to the statement from the Daung Nyi Naung Military Column, the engagement concluded and forces withdrew at approximately 5:45 PM.
