The deceased soldier, Kyaw Win, had a history of violence against civilians in the Gangaw area, particularly using sniper tactics. One notable incident occurred on February 27 near Infantry Battalion 50, where he shot and killed a civilian from Lapo village who was traveling by motorcycle on the bridge connecting Gangaw town and Saiduu village. In that incident, one of two motorcycle riders was fatally shot. Local sources confirm that Kyaw Win was responsible for multiple sniper attacks on civilians in the area.
The military council forces in the Gangaw region have been systematically perpetrating violence and killings against civilian populations, particularly employing snipers to terrorize and eliminate civilians. Kyaw Win, who died in this recent accident, was actively involved in such brutal operations, having committed numerous acts of violence against local residents. The military council’s use of snipers has been a deliberate strategy to instill fear and maintain control over the civilian population in the region, with documented cases of unprovoked attacks on innocent civilians going about their daily lives.
