According to reports from military meetings held in Naypyidaw during May, the terrorist military council has decided to launch major offensives starting from late May to recapture territories they have lost. The meetings, chaired by Min Aung Hlaing, determined that airstrikes and clearance operations would continue without interruption even during the rainy season.
The military meetings, which took place at the military headquarters in Naypyidaw including May 15th and 16th, made decisions to conduct continuous offensive operations to quickly reclaim lost territories ahead of their planned election. The operations will primarily utilize newly graduated military trainees alongside existing combat units and strike forces. The military council plans to provide continuous air support during these offensive operations.
Priority areas for the military council’s offensive operations include towns in northern Shan State currently under TNLA control including Naung Cho, as well as territories in Sagaing Region, Tanintharyi Region, Karenni State, and Chin State. Additionally, continuous military column operations are planned for Rakhine State, Kachin State, Bago Region, and Magway Region. According to military sources in Naypyidaw, they aim to reclaim as much territory as possible within the next six months, deploying large-scale operations with concentrated forces split into multiple columns.
