The commander of the Ye Bilu Group has confirmed that military council troops fled without resistance when their outposts near Ayu Mountain Village in Ye Township, Mon State, were attacked. The incident occurred on June 8, when the military council forces abandoned their positions without engaging in any defensive operations when confronted by the Ye Bilu Group. The commander further noted that the military council’s troops have significantly reduced their movements outside their bases in recent times.
As a result of the Ye Bilu Group’s offensive operations, the military council was forced to abandon five outposts, including the Ayu Mountain Top Sawmill post, Ayu Village Bamboo Monastery post, Konduu Village Pagoda Hill post, and the Phawtaw Village Betel Forest post. This represents a significant victory for local civilians and demonstrates the weakening control of the military council in the region. The Ye Bilu Group continues to monitor military council movements in the area and is prepared to conduct further operations if necessary.
The withdrawal of military council outposts is expected to improve freedom of movement and daily activities for local residents. Previously, these military council checkpoints regularly conducted inspections, collected illegal taxes, and intimidated local civilians, disrupting their daily lives. However, with the reduced military council presence in the area, security conditions and freedom for local residents are expected to improve. The retreat of military council forces from these strategic positions marks a significant shift in the local power dynamics and represents a positive development for civilian populations who have long suffered under military council control.
