Revolutionary forces conducted attacks on three military council positions in Zeya Waddy town, Pyay Township, Bago Region, resulting in four military council casualties and two injuries, according to confirmation from the Pyay Township People’s Defense Force (PDF). The attacks took place at 9:45 PM on June 10th, targeting military positions at the Zeya Waddy railway station, sugar factory, and Salt Gon checkpoint along the old Yangon-Mandalay road.
In the detailed account of the operation, the Pyay Township PDF forces targeted military council troops patrolling near the railway station and the sugar factory on the eastern side of town. Simultaneously, drone units conducted aerial bombing operations against military personnel stationed at the Salt Gon checkpoint south of the town. During the attacks, military council forces retreated, abandoning two civilian vehicles which were subsequently seized by revolutionary forces.
The military council troops based at the railway station and sugar factory in Zeya Waddy town have been reportedly engaging in violent activities against local civilians, including forced recruitment and extortion. Notably, the factory manager and deputy manager of the Zeya Waddy sugar factory have been assisting the military council by providing civilian vehicles for their operations. The People’s Defense Force revealed that these attacks were strategically planned to counter such oppressive activities being carried out by the military council forces in the area. The resistance forces continue their efforts to protect civilians from the military council’s ongoing campaign of violence and exploitation in the region.
