
A military officer named Kyaw Myo Naing from the No. 5 Military Training Command (TTC-5) was killed by sniper fire during clashes between resistance forces and military council troops at the border of Laymyethna and Ingapu townships in Ayeyarwady Region. According to local sources, the incident occurred around 2 AM on July 6 near Pantawgyi village, where People’s Defense Force (PDF) fighters engaged in combat with military council forces. Officer Kyaw Myo Naing was fatally shot in the head and died instantly during the confrontation.
The deceased officer’s body is scheduled to be cremated at the Rakhine Kone village crematorium near TTC-5 on the morning of July 8. His wife has been contacting friends and relatives by phone to attend the funeral. Local sources report that the military council forces have been suffering heavy casualties in the ongoing battles along the Laymyethna-Ingapu township border area, with approximately five deceased soldiers being brought to the Rakhine Kone crematorium daily for cremation. The continuous flow of military casualties has led to increased forced recruitment efforts by the military council in various locations.
