Military council leader Min Aung Hlaing departed from Naypyidaw to Bangkok, Thailand on the morning of April 3rd via a special military aircraft. The military special aircraft number 002 was piloted by Lieutenant Colonel Min Min Soe from the Air Force, and the trip was made in response to an invitation from Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra to attend the BIMSTEC meeting.
The military special aircraft crew included Major Nay Htun Oo as co-pilot, Captain Min Min Htike as assistant pilot, Captain Aung Kyaw Myint as aviation engineer, and Captain Chaw Thet Htar as flight navigation officer. For this trip, both Foreign Minister Than Swe and Min Aung Hlaing are using the same aircraft for their travel arrangements.
Min Aung Hlaing, the head of the military council, departed for the international conference amid ongoing battles within the country, attacks by People’s Defense Forces, and the deteriorating situation of the military council. The military council continues to commit acts of violence, arrests, killings, and oppression against civilians, while also forcing civilians into military service.
