
The military council conducted a second aerial attack on Kyaukme city in northern Shan State, which is currently under the control of the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), in the early morning of June 27. According to local residents, the bombing resulted in the death of a 50-year-old woman and injured two others. The attacks occurred at 00:46 and 00:51 in the morning, with military council aircraft dropping two bombs on the North Quarter and Construction compound areas.
The deceased was identified as Daw Moe Naung, who died instantly at the bombing site, while two others sustained injuries, as confirmed by local residents. The aerial bombardment also caused damage to several homes and office buildings. Prior to this attack, on June 24, the military council had carried out its first airstrike on Kyaukme city, dropping two bombs that hit near the Pan Sanpay Tea Shop and the Model Rice Shop, resulting in four civilian deaths and numerous injuries.
Kyaukme city is a strategically important location in northern Shan State and is a region controlled by the Ta’ang National Liberation Army. The military council’s airstrikes have caused fear and panic among local residents, with some fleeing to safer areas. The military council’s targeting of civilian areas continues to result in casualties among innocent civilians. The ongoing attacks demonstrate the military council’s pattern of conducting airstrikes on civilian-populated areas, leading to continuous casualties and destruction of civilian infrastructure.
