The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) has reported that the military council forces are conducting offensive operations using chemical weapons in their attacks on TNLA-controlled territories in Naung Cho Township, northern Shan State. On the morning of June 15, fighting broke out between military council forces and the TNLA in Um Htee and Yay Maung Tan villages in Naung Cho Township, during which the military council forces deployed three heavy artillery rounds, 37 chemical bombs via drones, and 35 conventional bombs.
Additionally, during the fighting in Let Pan Kone village, the military council forces provided artillery support with six heavy weapons. They also fired three artillery rounds at Shwe Nyaung Pin village, where no fighting was taking place, deliberately targeting civilians. On June 13, battles also occurred in Shwe Thon, Pein Nae Kone, Tha Yet Kone, and Let Pan Kone villages, where the military council forces employed heavy artillery and drones in their attacks.
While the military council announced a ceasefire for the entire month of June under the pretext of providing aid to earthquake victims, they have been conducting intense offensive operations in Naung Cho Township. The Three Brotherhood Alliance of Northern Alliance has extended their unilateral ceasefire for another month to facilitate humanitarian assistance and aid operations for earthquake victims in conflict areas. However, the TNLA has reported that frequent clashes continue to occur in Naung Cho Township as the military council exploits this opportunity to launch continuous offensive operations.
