Thai media sources have confirmed that the military council launched attacks using four kamikaze drones against KNLA and allied forces along the Thai-Myanmar border in Myawaddy Township, Karen State. The attacks, which occurred on the evening of July 13th, resulted in fires and destruction that were clearly visible from the Thai side of the border. Currently, only two military council outposts remain in the Myawaddy Township border area, while revolutionary forces continue their offensive operations against all military council camps within Karen National Union (KNU) controlled territory.
According to an official from the Force for Federal Democracy (FFD), they are attacking the Waw Lay camp under the military leadership of KNU and KNLA, together with allied forces. Military operations are being conducted across nearly all southern KNLA military fronts, not just in Brigade 6 area, with continuous offensive operations against military council territories. The official stated that they are simultaneously attacking both Ukayit Hta and Waw Lay camps, while coordinated military operations are being carried out across various brigades.
On July 11, revolutionary joint forces conducted a drone strike on the ammunition depot within the military council’s Waw Lay strategic camp near the Thai-Myanmar border in Myawaddy Township. The attack triggered secondary explosions of the stored weapons and ammunition, resulting in a major explosion and fire that destroyed the facility. Subsequently, on July 12, the military council’s Ukayit Hta camp was attacked by combined forces including KNLA, PDF Strategy 32 revolutionary forces, VENOM column, Cobra Column 1, and Unit 2 (PKYY). Nearly 100 soldiers fled to Thailand, and the revolutionary forces successfully captured the camp. Since March, under KNLA/KNU military leadership, the FFD and allied forces have been conducting offensive operations against all military council camps across the southern front, successfully capturing numerous strategic positions including Pulutoo, Khalayday, Thawbikhee, Mawphathu, Thalay, Maela, Black Do, Mawkhi, Bogyoke Aung camp, Kanelay camp, Shwe Aye Myaing camp, Thabyu camp, Htee Kaplay camp, and most recently the Ukayit Hta camp on July 12.
