
In Mogok city of Mandalay Region, an area controlled by the ethnic armed group TNLA, the military council conducted an aerial bombardment without any ground battle, resulting in injuries to 8 civilians including children. The airstrike occurred near Pan Ma Htee Monastery in Upper Village at 10:37 PM on July 13, causing extensive damage to vehicles, motorcycles, homes, and numerous buildings. According to local sources, while there were injuries among civilians, none were reported to be life-threatening.
A local resident reported that the fighter jet flew at low altitude and conducted the bombing raid so suddenly that civilians had no time to seek shelter. Following the aerial attack, residents of Mogok city were unable to sleep in their homes and had to spend the night in nearby bomb shelters. Local residents stated that the military council was deliberately inflicting psychological trauma on the people of Mogok through these targeted attacks.
Previously, on July 9 at 8:18 PM, a military aircraft from the Tada-U Air Base dropped a 300-pound bomb on Kular Garden in the eastern part of Mogok city, in the Taung Kachin ward near Pan Ma area. The bomb fell on residential areas, killing two 12-year-old children instantly and injuring eight other civilians. Additionally, on July 8 around 9 AM, the military council dropped a 500-pound bomb near Gaung Ba Valley School in the western part of Mogok city, resulting in the deaths of three civilians and injuries to many others.
