The terrorist military council has conducted aerial bombardments in the Kyauk Htu area of Saw Township, Gangaw District, Magway Region, according to local sources and revolutionary organizations. On May 9, a military aircraft from the Tatmadaw’s Tataoo Air Base targeted villages in the Kyauk Htu area with bomb attacks. According to Ko Bo Kaung from Yaw Alinn Tan, the aircraft dropped no fewer than 12 bombs between 6:20 AM and 6:30 AM.
While the full extent of damage to civilian lives and property from these airstrikes remains unclear, reports indicate that the military council continues to conduct daily aerial bombardments in the region. These attacks have caused significant concern among local residents, and revolutionary organizations have advised civilians to construct bomb shelters for protection against air raids. The military council’s actions demonstrate a pattern of targeting civilian areas even in the absence of active conflict.
Despite declaring a nationwide ceasefire from May 6 to May 31, the military council has continued its offensive operations, including airstrikes, artillery shelling, and drone attacks on civilian areas where no active fighting is taking place. According to statements from revolutionary organizations, these attacks during the declared ceasefire period demonstrate the military council’s brutality and disregard for civilian safety. Local residents report that these war crimes against civilians, even during a proclaimed ceasefire period, clearly illustrate the military council’s cruel nature and their ongoing campaign of violence against the people of Myanmar.
