The military council’s forces conducted aerial attacks on the Kyauk Htu area in Saw Township, Gangaw District, Magway Region, according to local sources and revolutionary organizations. On May 9, a military aircraft from the Tatmadaw’s Tataung Air Base targeted villages in the Kyauk Htu area with bomb strikes. Between 6:20 AM and 6:30 AM, the Y12 aircraft dropped no fewer than 12 bombs, as confirmed by a representative from the Yaw Alinn Tan organization.
The military council deliberately targets civilian areas and locations where there are no active conflicts with aerial strikes. Due to these attacks, local civilians need to construct bomb shelters, and revolutionary organizations have advised people to follow air raid defense procedures. Although the military council announced a temporary ceasefire from May 6 to May 31, in reality, attacks have continued unabated. The military council continues to conduct military operations nationwide, including troop deployments, aerial bombardments, artillery strikes, and drone attacks on a daily basis.
These ongoing attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and destruction of homes and property. As a result, local residents must remain extremely vigilant and take necessary precautions to protect themselves from aerial attacks. Revolutionary organizations have emphasized the importance of making advance preparations for air raid protection. The military council’s actions demonstrate a pattern of targeting civilian populations despite claims of ceasefire, making it crucial for communities to maintain constant vigilance and follow recommended safety protocols to minimize casualties and damage from these indiscriminate attacks.
