The military council’s forces conducted aerial bombardments in the Kyauk Htu area of Saw Township, Gangaw District, Magway Region, according to local sources and revolutionary organizations. On May 9, a combat aircraft from the military council’s Tataoo Air Base targeted villages in the Kyauk Htu area with bomb attacks. According to Ko Bo Kaung from Yaw Alinn Tan organization, the aircraft dropped no fewer than 12 bombs between 6:20 AM and 6:30 AM.
While the exact extent of damage to civilian lives and properties from the aerial attack remains unclear, the military council continues to conduct daily aerial bombardments, requiring local residents to exercise extreme caution. The military council deliberately targets civilian villages even in areas where there is no active fighting or military operations. This pattern of attacks demonstrates a systematic targeting of civilian populations in areas with no military presence or conflict.
Revolutionary organizations have advised the public to follow air raid defense procedures and construct bomb shelters at every household. Despite the military council’s announcement of a temporary ceasefire from May 6 to May 31, they continue to conduct military operations nationwide, including troop deployments, aerial bombings, artillery strikes, and drone attacks without interruption, as confirmed by revolutionary groups. The international community has expressed serious concern over these war crimes being committed against civilian populations. The ongoing attacks highlight the military council’s disregard for civilian safety and their declared ceasefire, as they continue to target residential areas with heavy weapons and aerial bombardments.
