Reports from local residents and revolutionary organizations confirm that the military council forces conducted aerial attacks in the Kyauk Htu area of Saw Township, Gangaw District, Magway Region. On May 9, a military aircraft from the Tatmadaw’s Tataoo Air Base carried out bombing raids targeting villages in the Kyauk Htu area. According to Ko Bo Kaung from Yaw Alinn Tan organization, the aircraft dropped no fewer than 12 bombs during a ten-minute period between 6:20 AM and 6:30 AM.
While the exact extent of damage to civilian lives and property remains unclear, the military council continues to conduct daily aerial bombardments, forcing local residents to remain on high alert. The military council deliberately targets civilian villages in areas where there are no active conflicts or military operations. These attacks appear to be intentionally directed at civilian populations, raising serious humanitarian concerns. Revolutionary organizations have advised civilians to follow air raid protection protocols and construct bomb shelters at every household.
Despite the military council’s announcement of a temporary ceasefire from May 6 to May 31, they continue to conduct military operations across the country, including troop deployments, aerial bombings, artillery strikes, and drone attacks, as confirmed by revolutionary groups. The international community has strongly condemned these acts of war crimes against civilians. The military council’s actions demonstrate a clear pattern of targeting civilian areas without military necessity, violating international humanitarian law and showing complete disregard for civilian safety and well-being.
