Local sources report that in Tamoke Tha village, Thaung Tha Township, Mandalay Region, the military council forces who had been stationed there for a month arrested, interrogated, and killed their appointed village administrator Bo Ye, disposing of his body in a ravine. The military council troops, who have been based in Tamoke Tha village since June, had detained ten local civilians and on June 20th, they also arrested and tortured their appointed administrator Bo Ye during interrogation.
Under the military council’s interrogation, Administrator Bo Ye died on July 21st, and his body was disposed of in a ravine near the entrance of Tamoke Tha village around 3 PM. The deceased administrator Bo Ye was directly appointed by the military council and was the nephew of former USDP party mayor U Aung Thein Lin. Additionally, Bo Ye’s son is currently serving as a military officer in the military council forces, according to local residents.
Tamoke Tha village is one of ten Pyu Saw Htee villages in Thaung Tha Township, where previously the Pyu Saw Htee group and military council forces had jointly stationed about seventy personnel. After resistance forces launched two attacks, Pyu Saw Htee leader Phoe Aye and his group fled, leaving only ordinary civilians behind, which led to the resistance forces’ withdrawal. Currently, the military council forces have redeployed in the village to control the Myingyan-Nyaung-U route, and continue to detain ten local civilians.
Following Administrator Bo Ye’s killing, on July 22nd, two more military vehicles arrived at Tamoke Tha village, and the ten detained civilians remain in custody without release, as confirmed by local residents.
