According to military sources in Naypyidaw, the military council is conducting detailed investigations into bank accounts and banking institutions used by supporters of the Spring Revolution who are living abroad, with the aim of closing these accounts. The council has issued directives to various departments including overseas embassy staff, the Central Bank in Naypyidaw, the Ministry of Finance, police intelligence units, and military intelligence groups to thoroughly investigate and identify bank accounts and money flow patterns of revolution supporters abroad.
Under the military council’s directives, relevant departments have been tasked with investigating and promptly reporting details of bank names, account information, and money transfer patterns used by supporters in foreign countries. Additionally, they have been instructed to carefully document identified bank accounts and work through central banks, finance ministries, police forces, and security organizations in respective countries to facilitate the closure of accounts related to revolution support activities.
Currently, Myanmar people residing in countries including Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, the United States, Australia, and Japan are actively providing financial support to revolutionary movements. They are raising funds through various means, including fundraising events, collecting donations, and using different methods to gather financial resources which are then sent to revolutionary forces. It has been observed that the military council is attempting to obstruct these support efforts by overseas Myanmar people through various measures.
