The Galon People’s Defense Force in Shwebo Township has confirmed that one military council soldier was killed during an attack on forces preparing to establish a position along the Shwebo-Ye-U road in Sagaing Region. The attack, which occurred on March 23, targeted military council troops who were preparing to set up a base in Thyayar village along the Shwebo-Ye-U road. The targeted military council forces were from several villages including Panyan, Lepchin, Khuntaunggyi, Myingchin, and Zeekon villages.
Revolutionary forces conducted drone strikes during the operation, resulting in the death of one Pyu Saw Htee member from Khuntaunggyi village and injuries to four others. Following the attack, the revolutionary forces were able to successfully withdraw without suffering any casualties. Resistance groups confirmed that this attack effectively responded to the military council’s activities in the region. The operation demonstrated the growing capabilities of resistance forces in conducting coordinated attacks against military council positions.
Simultaneously, fighting broke out in Seikphyu Township, Magway Region. A joint force consisting of the Burma Galon RC Plane Force and Battalion 3 of the Pakokku District intercepted a military council convoy attempting to deliver supplies to the Shinmataung camp. The three days of continuous fighting, which took place from March 16 to 18, resulted in confirmed casualties on the military council side, according to a responsible official from the Burma Galon Force. The official noted that while they were certain about inflicting casualties, they had to withdraw after three days of engagement due to equipment needs, and subsequent developments could not be confirmed due to communication difficulties in the area.
