
The military council forces raided Nga Thayaw village in Yesagyo Township, Magway Region, on the morning of March 19, burning down houses and firing heavy weapons and small arms at civilians, forcing the entire village to evacuate, according to local sources. Beginning around 6:30 AM, military council troops entered Nga Thayaw village and systematically burned down residential houses. They also fired heavy weapons and small arms indiscriminately at villagers who were fleeing, causing all residents to seek safety elsewhere.
Due to the military council troops’ random firing, thousands of people not only from Nga Thayaw village but also from nearby villages have been forced to flee to safety, according to local residents. The military council forces had burned down Bisapkone village on March 18, and now they have entered Nga Thayaw village, firing heavy weapons and small arms while burning down houses. During the arson attacks, they continuously fired small arms, causing people to flee in different directions.
This military council column has been continuously burning down villages in Yesagyo Township and has killed 18 civilians after arrest, according to local residents’ confirmation. Currently, as people are fleeing in different directions, it is not yet possible to confirm if there are any injuries or casualties. Local residents express grave concern about the military council’s violence and fear the situation may worsen further.
