
The military council forces raided Nga Thayaw village in Yesagyo Township, Magway Region, on the morning of March 19, burning down houses and firing heavy weapons and small arms at civilians, forcing the entire village to evacuate, according to local sources. Beginning around 6:30 AM, military council troops entered Nga Thayaw village and systematically burned down residential houses. They also fired heavy weapons and small arms indiscriminately at villagers who were trying to flee, causing all residents to seek safety elsewhere.
Due to the brutal actions of the military council forces, thousands of people not only from Nga Thayaw village but also from surrounding villages have been forced to flee to safety, according to local residents. While burning houses in the village, the military troops continuously fired small arms, causing people to scatter in different directions, and it has not yet been confirmed whether there are any casualties. Local sources confirmed that these are the same military forces that burned down Bisapkone village yesterday.
These military council forces have been continuously burning down villages in Yesagyo Township and have already killed 18 civilians through arrests and executions. Due to the military council’s brutal actions, local civilians are facing severe livelihood challenges, having lost their homes and being forced to flee as internally displaced persons. Currently, due to the military council’s indiscriminate firing, local people’s lives and property are not secure, and they remain in a state of fear and anxiety.
