The military council forces have raided and burned down Allakappa village, located along the Mandalay-Monywa road in Myinmu Township, Sagaing Region. On April 15th, in the afternoon, military forces stationed at both the Doe Myanmar Kyaw gas station on the east side of the village and at the Myaung junction on the west side collaborated to deliberately burn down 12 civilian homes. Local sources reported that both civilians and Buddhist monks were arrested during the operation.
Prior to this incident, on April 13th around noon, military council forces stationed at Basic Education High School No. 1 in Myinmu town emerged with two civilian vehicles and attacked PDF forces who were resting south of Allakappa village, resulting in armed clashes. During the fighting, one PDF member was injured, and the resistance forces lost one AK-47 rifle and four mobile phones. Following the clash, the military forces raided a nearby monastery, arresting 15 Buddhist monks and 10 civilians, while also confiscating 16 civilian motorcycles.
Later that night, military forces from both the gas station and Myaung junction positions conducted another raid into the village, firing both small arms and heavy weapons indiscriminately. They burned down another civilian house and arrested an additional 15 civilians. According to a spokesperson from the People’s Knight Defence Force – Myinmu (PKDF-MMU), despite the military council’s claims of a ceasefire, they continue to arrest civilians and burn down homes without justification in Myinmu Township. The spokesperson added that the military’s actions are becoming increasingly severe with each passing day.
