
Military council forces have been conducting attacks, burning villages, and detaining civilians in the border area between Minhla and Letpadan Townships in Bago Region, according to local military sources. Since June 20, the military forces have been systematically burning villages while carrying gasoline bombs. The attacks have resulted in severe injuries to three civilians, while 37 others have been detained to be used as human shields.
The military council forces have consecutively burned down Taungpyat Village, Ywekon Village, Utaw Kywelan Su Village, Sarchaung Village, Sin Ain Chaung Pauk Village, Gangaw Pin Village, Bogyoke Htaung Village, Ngala San Village, Pharlaykon Village, Sanbok Village, and Kywemagaing Village. Additionally, their heavy artillery attacks have caused severe injuries to Ko Yay Che from Sanbok Village, U Aw Tar Gyi and his son Ko Phi Pho Min from Pharlaykon North Village.
The military forces have brutally beaten and detained 14 civilians from Ngala San Village, 11 from Ngetpyawton Village, one from Taungpaw Su Village, 10 women from Kanyin Pin San Village, and Ko Ye Maung along with his sister from Banbwe Pin Village as human shields. The forces also raided Situn Village, ransacking homes and looting 1.5 ticals of gold, cash, and household items.
Currently, thousands of residents from over 40 villages in Minhla Township, including Kywemagaing, Ywekon, Sanbok, Kyunkon, Sarchaung, Kwetma, Ngala San, Ngamoyeik, Zayitmyaung, Shwepaukpin, Taunglein, Kanthonsin, Htaukkan, and Thayawkon, have been forced to flee to safety. The brutal actions of the military council forces have resulted in the destruction of residents’ homes, agricultural activities, and livelihoods.
