On July 6 at around 9:50 AM, the Salin Urban Guerrilla Tiger Force attacked military council troops who were forcibly recruiting young people as porters at Nyaung Pin Thar Monastery in Salin Township, where over 50 military personnel were present. While the number of military casualties could not be confirmed, the resistance forces were able to withdraw without any casualties.
According to Ko Pyae Thu from the People’s Brotherhood-Salin group, they had planted two mines. The military council forces were moving around on motorcycles and vehicles, forcibly recruiting civilians as porters, and had beaten and arrested one woman. The group advised civilians to avoid areas where military council forces were present for their safety. The attack was carried out with consideration for civilian safety, with only one of the two planted mines being detonated due to the presence of civilians in the area.
Additionally, in Pakokku Township, Magway Region, resistance forces conducted two consecutive rocket attacks on military council troops and militia members stationed at Shin Ma Kan People’s Militia village east of Kamma. Colonel Myauk Hauk from the Pakokku PDF Heavy Weapons Unit COBRA ONE confirmed the attacks. The operations were carried out around 4 PM and 8:30 PM on July 6, using five rockets. Reports indicate at least three casualties on the military council’s side, though exact numbers could not be confirmed.
The attacks were jointly conducted by Pakokku Township-Battalion(1)PDF, Pakokku Township-PDF Heavy Weapons Unit COBRA ONE, District PDF-Company(5)Ayeyarduang, and Territory(1)Defense Force PLO Young Force. According to reports, there were only about 30 military council troops in Shin Ma Kan village, who fled outside the village during the attack. The resistance forces urged members of the people’s militia to defect and join the revolution as soon as possible, warning that further attacks would continue. The operations demonstrated the growing coordination and capabilities of resistance forces in the Magway Region, as they continue to challenge the military council’s control in various townships.
