
The Military Region 1 has announced that during an attack on military council reinforcement troops in Inntaw Township, Sagaing Region, 33 military council officers and soldiers were killed, 31 soldiers were captured alive, and 54 weapons were seized. The incident occurred near Pann Taung Gyi and Pann Taung Lay mountains in the vicinity of Pin Lut village, at the border of Inntaw and Katha townships in Sagaing Region.
The military council column, which departed from Infantry Battalion 309 in Katha, was a combined force of approximately 150 personnel from Infantry Battalions 106, 309, and 6, led by Major Lin Htet. The attacking forces consisted of a coalition including the Kachin Independence Army (KIA), Kachin People’s Defense Force (KPDF), Katha District Battalion-1, Moetar District PDF, and Katha Township PDF.
During the engagement, 33 military council personnel were killed and 10 were wounded, while 31 soldiers were taken as prisoners of war. Two revolutionary fighters were also reported to have fallen in the battle. The operation resulted in the seizure of significant military equipment and weapons from the military council forces.
The captured weapons and equipment included 29 MA-1 rifles, 6 MA-2 rifles, 12 MA-3 rifles, 3 MA-4 rifles, 1 MA-11 rifle, 1 MA-15 rifle, 1 anti-drone gun, 37 MA-10 grenades, 8,000 MA ammunition rounds, 2,000 MA-15 ammunition rounds, 17 60mm mortar shells, 113 ammunition magazines, 1 backpack jammer, 1 communication radio, 1 landline telephone, and 12 bulletproof helmets. This successful operation represents a significant blow to the military council’s forces in the region and demonstrates the growing strength and coordination of resistance forces in their fight against the military regime.
