The military council has issued false information claiming that a fighter jet crash in Pale Township, Sagaing Region on June 10 was due to technical malfunction. The aircraft was actually shot down by the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) while attempting to conduct bombing raids on the battle for Kan Daunt Police Station in Pale Township. The incident occurred around 12:15 PM when the military’s fighter jet was brought down during its bombing mission.
The military council routinely attempts to cover up their aircraft and helicopter losses by falsely attributing them to technical malfunctions. In a recent incident on May 20, two military helicopters transporting reinforcements to Banmaw City in Kachin State were successfully shot down by the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) using kamikaze drones. However, the military council again falsely claimed these crashes were due to technical failures.
The military council frequently issues such false statements to cover up their military losses and downplay the capabilities of People’s Defense Forces. The military council’s air operations have been targeting innocent civilians and committing war crimes, which has led resistance forces to focus on degrading the junta’s air power capabilities. These false claims about technical malfunctions are part of a broader pattern of disinformation aimed at hiding the true extent of their losses and the growing effectiveness of resistance forces in defending civilian populations from airstrikes.
