
The Mon Liberation Army (MLA) has reported that approximately 30 military council soldiers, including the deputy battalion commander from Light Infantry Battalion 432, were killed in a battle near Nwar Chan Kone village in Kyun Daw town, Kawkareik Township, Karen State. The battle began around 7 AM on April 30 and continued intensely until about 10 AM. The confrontation occurred when revolutionary allied forces engaged with a military council column of about 50 troops that had entered near Nwar Chan Kone village.
During the battle, Major Soe Min Htet, the deputy battalion commander of LIB 432, along with approximately 30 other soldiers from the military council forces, were killed, leading to the collapse and retreat of their column. The attack was carried out through coordinated efforts of multiple revolutionary forces, including the Mon Liberation Army (MLA), the New Mon State Party-Allied Defense (NMSP-AD), the Flying Dragon Column, the Lion Battalion, and other allied forces under KNLA leadership. The military council column consisted of troops from various units under the Tanintharyi Coastal Region Command, including forces from Division 22, Division 44, and battalions such as LIB 208 (Kyaikhto), LIB 102 (Mottama), and LIB 432 (Bokpyin).
As fighting continues in the area, local residents have been advised to remain vigilant about military movements in their vicinity and to take precautionary measures against potential artillery strikes and airstrikes by the military council. People are urged to stay only in secure locations and maintain awareness of the ongoing military situation. Revolutionary forces are taking special precautions to ensure the safety of civilian populations in the area while continuing their operations against military council forces.
