A military council convoy was attacked with mines near Chaung-U town along the Monywa-Mandalay road in Sagaing Region. The incident occurred at 8:15 AM on March 25th when resistance forces targeted an armored convoy of 4 vehicles from Monywa that was providing security for an acid-carrying truck convoy from Military Division 33 in Sagaing. While the armored vehicles sustained damage in the attack, casualties among military personnel could not be confirmed.
The attack involved the use of 3-round Padaytha mines and 7-round mines, with fighting continuing up to the Nataykan checkpoint. The operation was jointly carried out by Monywa District Battalion 12, Company 3 Lightning Force, Nway Oo Brothers Column, and Royal Tigers Force (Salingyi). The People’s Defense Force members successfully withdrew from the area without any casualties. The resistance forces maintained continuous fire along the route during the operation.
Additionally, on the same day at 3 PM, joint People’s Defense Forces launched an attack on the Pyu Saw Htee camp in Tawpu village, Monywa Township. The attack utilized 60mm, 80mm, 120mm mortars, 107 rockets, and small arms in close-range combat. Artillery shells landed inside Tawpu village, likely causing casualties among soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members. The military council forces responded with both heavy weapons and small arms fire. The attack was carried out by a coalition of resistance groups including Yinmabin District Battalion 35, Company 3 Red Wing Special Guerrilla Force (Salingyi), Chindwin Dynamite PDF (Salingyi), and other allied forces.
Local resistance leaders have emphasized the importance of civilians constructing bomb shelters to protect against airstrikes, noting that villages without proper shelters have suffered higher casualty rates. As the revolution continues, there is an ongoing need for ammunition, weapons, and production costs. The resistance forces have appealed to supporters both within Myanmar and abroad to continue providing assistance and support for their operations. The coordinated attacks demonstrate the growing capabilities of resistance forces in challenging military council control in the Sagaing Region.
