
A representative from the Kamma Region Revolutionary Alliance has confirmed that the terrorist military column operating in Kamma Township, Magway Region, continues to arrest and kill civilians while conducting repeated airstrikes on villages. On May 28, the advance troops from the terrorist military’s supply column burned down a Kamma Alliance camp along the Kamma-Pauk road, resulting in the destruction of approximately 50 million kyats worth of equipment including IED materials, production machinery, ammunition, and motorcycles.
On the same day, military council soldiers arrested four civilians from Mangyindan, Inpat, and Mezali villages, and killed one civilian by tying them to a lamppost in Shwelan village. On June 3, the military’s supply column further arrested eight civilians from Yathaar, Yemyat, Pyitine, and Yelargyi villages. On June 4, a battle occurred at Sargyin Hill when the Kamma Alliance attempted to ambush the military column with mines, resulting in the death of one revolutionary fighter.
On June 6, the military attacked Mangyinthonepin village in the Kamma area using one helicopter gunship from Saipyu KaPaSa factory and two helicopter gunships from Pakokku Division 101. On June 7, they conducted 12 airstrikes on Thanbo village using a Y-12 aircraft from Tatone Air Force Base, dropping 37 120mm bombs which destroyed civilian homes but fortunately resulted in no civilian casualties. On June 8 and 9, they continued drone attacks and artillery strikes on displaced persons’ forest shelters near Thanaung and Gyopyar villages.
On June 9, military council soldiers killed one of their detained civilians in the Kamma stream and disposed of the body. However, one civilian from Yemyat village who managed to escape from the military column is currently receiving medical treatment from the Kamma Defense Group of the Kamma Alliance. Due to these brutal acts by the terrorist military, local residents are living in fear, with many forced to flee to safer locations according to local sources.
