
Local residents report that the military council continues to conduct aerial attacks on territories under TNLA control in Kyaukme city, northern Shan State. On the evening of June 29, military aircraft dropped no fewer than eight bombs on Kyaukme city. These aerial attacks were carried out three times at 8:35 PM, 8:40 PM, and 8:53 PM according to local sources.
The military council’s airstrikes targeted areas including farmland south of Kyaukme city, Ward 7, North Hill area, near the golf course past the church, and a row of four buildings. The exact number of casualties and extent of damage are yet to be determined, according to local residents. One local resident stated that civilians have begun fleeing the city to safer locations as the military council continues its aerial bombardment both day and night.
Earlier that day, at 2:30 PM on June 29, the military council conducted an airstrike near Kambawza Shan Monastery on Panglong Road in Block 1 of Kyaukme city. This attack resulted in injuries to five civilians – two men and three women – with one person in critical condition. Additionally, previous airstrikes by the military council on June 27 and June 24 resulted in the deaths of five civilians and left many others injured, according to local sources. These continued attacks have created an atmosphere of fear and instability in the region, forcing local residents to flee their homes and seek shelter in safer areas.
