The military council conducted aerial bombings in Laymyethna Township, Ayeyarwady Region, on the evening of March 18, according to local residents. Around 8 PM, military aircraft dropped bombs between Watkone village and Taw village along the Pathein-Monywa road in Laymyethna Township. A local resident confirmed that the bombing occurred in an uninhabited area, resulting in no casualties or injuries.
Currently, due to military propaganda claiming the presence of the Arakan Army (AA) and revolutionary forces in villages near the Rakhine Yoma mountain range bordering Laymyethna and Ngathayaung townships, the military council has increased its military presence in the region. They have deployed additional reinforcements, conducted artillery strikes, and carried out aerial and drone attacks, forcing local residents to flee their homes. The military’s escalating operations have created an atmosphere of fear and instability in the region.
According to local military sources, the Arakan Army (AA) has been conducting continuous offensive operations and advancing their forces into Ayeyarwady, Bago, and Magway regions, which share borders with Rakhine State. The military council’s aerial attacks have caused widespread panic among local residents, with many seeking refuge in safer areas. The security situation remains volatile as civilians continue to face displacement and ongoing military operations in their communities.
