
The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) has reported that the military council conducted airstrikes on Kyaukkyam village in Naung Cho Township while Myanmar is dealing with an earthquake disaster. On March 31st at 10:10 AM, the military council forces carried out an attack using a drone carrying 120mm bombs, resulting in damage to civilian properties and infrastructure. The bombing caused significant destruction to local residents’ homes and belongings.
On March 28th at 1:05 PM, during the earthquake, the military council also conducted airstrikes on Naung Lin village in Naung Cho Township using fighter jets that dropped two 250-pound bombs. This attack resulted in the destruction of three civilian homes and two schools. The TNLA stated that these military council airstrikes deliberately targeted civilians in areas where there was no active fighting taking place.
Similarly, on March 26th, the military council conducted airstrikes on Umkha village, Thonezay village, and Shwenyaunpin village in Naung Cho Township. These attacks resulted in the death of four civilians and left four others injured. Additionally, numerous civilian homes were damaged by bomb fragments. The TNLA has issued warnings to local residents about the military council’s systematic targeting of civilian areas, advising them to remain vigilant about military activities and to follow proper air raid defense procedures to protect themselves from these deliberate aerial attacks. The statement emphasizes that civilians need to maintain constant military awareness and follow air defense guidelines to protect themselves from the military council’s ongoing air strikes against civilian targets.
