A joint force of revolutionary groups successfully attacked a military council checkpoint near mile marker 101 at Shin Zaloop on the Yangon-Naypyidaw Highway in Kyauktaga Township, Bago Region, resulting in the death of four junta soldiers, according to Ko Phyo Maung, the Bago District coordinator. The attack was carried out in the early morning of March 15 by a combined force of Strategic Command-22’s Battalion 3701 (Second Special Operations Battalion) and Yangon North District PDF Division 2.
The engagement lasted approximately 45 minutes, during which four military council soldiers were killed and three others were wounded. The revolutionary forces were able to withdraw successfully without suffering any casualties. Local sources report that revolutionary activities have intensified in the region, with continuous offensive operations being conducted from the Sittaung River area, and frequent clashes occurring along the highway. The increasing frequency of attacks demonstrates the growing strength of resistance forces in the area.
Earlier, on March 13, Battalion 3701 Division 5 and Bago PDF forces had conducted another successful operation against the military council’s Khwe Gate checkpoint at mile marker 72, resulting in five casualties among junta forces, as confirmed by the Bago District coordinator. Revolutionary forces assess that their military operations within the Bago Region have gained significant momentum, and the military council’s control along the highway has been gradually weakening. These successive attacks represent a strategic challenge to the junta’s ability to maintain control over key transportation routes in the region.
