According to statements from People’s Defense Forces (PDF), eight members of the military council forces were killed across Myanmar on May 12. These casualties resulted from military operations conducted by various People’s Defense Forces and revolutionary alliance groups in different regions. The PDFs have been engaging in defensive actions in response to the military council’s ongoing violence, arrests, torture, and destruction of civilian properties through arson attacks.
While the People’s Defense Forces regularly release daily casualty reports of military council members, it should be noted that independent journalists and human rights monitors have been unable to verify these casualties on the ground due to access restrictions. However, the People’s Defense Forces continue their resistance operations to stop the military council’s ongoing crimes against civilian populations. These reports are compiled from various PDF statements and announcements, though on-ground verification of actual military casualties remains challenging under current circumstances.
