
A military council captain named Zaw Myo Latt was killed in an attack by revolutionary forces while visiting relatives in South Dagon Township, Yangon Region, according to a responsible official from the Civilian Military – SRDF special task force. The incident occurred around 8 AM on July 15, when Captain Zaw Myo Latt, who was stationed in Htawin Kone Gyi village in Hmawbi Township, was traveling to visit his relatives’ home in South Dagon Township via Hmawbi.
Revolutionary forces had been monitoring the military council officer’s movements through their intelligence network and carried out a close-range attack near Yoma Housing in the vicinity of the Technology University. After the attack, the revolutionary forces were able to withdraw successfully without any casualties. It was reported that the military council attempted to cover up the incident and transported Captain Zaw Myo Latt’s body back to his hometown. The operation was carried out as a coordinated effort between the People’s Defense Force Civilian Military – SRDF special operations unit and Shwebo District Battalion 15.
The attack was conducted under the direction of the Special Operations Department of the Ministry of Defense of the National Unity Government. Officials from the revolutionary forces noted that such attacks significantly impact the military council’s strength while bolstering the revolutionary movement’s capabilities. The successful operation demonstrated the effectiveness of coordination between different revolutionary forces and their intelligence network in carrying out precision strikes against military council targets.
