A military council camp stationed in Sanbut village, Minle Township, Bago Region, was attacked by People’s Defense Forces, resulting in the death of one military council soldier and injuries to two others, according to a responsible official from Battalion 3802, Division 3 of Thayawady District. The attack on the military council camp, located at the edge of the Bago Yoma mountain range in Sanbut village, was carried out by Battalion 3802, Division 3 of Thayawady District, beginning around 9 PM on May 6.
During the battle, both sides engaged in a six-hour exchange of heavy and light weapons fire. The clash resulted in one military council soldier being killed and two others wounded. Additionally, soldiers from Infantry Battalion 1 fired heavy weapons indiscriminately around the battle area, causing a house in Kyunkun village to burn down. Following the battle, the military council soldiers, fearing further attacks, remained confined to their camp and called for reinforcements.
On the evening of May 8, reinforcements arrived in six vehicles with additional military council troops. They proceeded to remove equipment from the camp and retreated around 11 PM. After all military council soldiers had abandoned the camp, revolutionary forces burned down and cleared the entire facility on May 10 at approximately 9 AM. The operation demonstrated the growing capability of resistance forces to challenge military council positions and their ability to force the withdrawal of military council troops from established positions in the region.
