
In Sagaing Region’s Myinmu Township, the military council forces raided two villages – Chaiyataw and Kyautmin – with approximately 150 troops on March 21 at around 7 AM. The military forces burned down 6 houses in Chaiyataw village and 1 house in Kyautmin village, while taking 3 civilians from Chaiyataw and 6 civilians from Kyautmin as human shields. The military column has now reportedly reached their base at Boemingyi checkpoint.
In Magway Region’s Yesagyo Township, the military council forces have been conducting continuous raids on villages. On March 21, advancing from Ngayot village towards Moepu and Moekwe villages, they captured over 50 civilians, including elderly people and children who were hiding on an island west of Moekwe village. The military used these captured civilians as human shields while continuing their raid on Kanoo village on March 22. The forces have destroyed numerous houses in Myaysunhtaw, Zayapni, Thagaunlay, and Panyo (Myaing) villages. They have also killed 18 civilians aged between 35 and 91 from Myaysunhtaw village, Malaka Chan village, Thagaunlay village, and Thagaung (village tract). Currently, phone and internet lines in Yesagyo Township have been cut off by the military council, making it difficult to obtain complete information about the situation.
