
According to local sources, the military council forces conducting operations in Minle Township, Bago Region for two consecutive days have burned down three villages. On May 1st at around 7:30 AM, military forces that arrived at Ngatmyayeik village systematically burned down civilian homes within the village. They also continued to shell nearby villages with heavy weapons.
On the previous day, April 30th morning, the military forces had burned down Zayitmyaung village, East Hill village, and Shwepaukpin village in Minle Township. Earlier on April 28th, four artillery shells fired by military council troops from Takalay village monastery landed and exploded in Ngalasam village, destroying one house and injuring two civilians.
Currently, due to the military council’s operations, thousands of residents from over twenty villages in the Kyaungya, Waykon, Kwetma, Sampok, Htaukkan, Pettan, Gangawpin, Uteiknyanpin, Inginkun and Samtaungkwe village tracts have been forced to flee to safety. Local residents remain fearful as the military council continues to burn villages and launch artillery attacks during their operations in the area.
