
In Kyin village of Mingun area, Sagaing Township, Sagaing Region, one military soldier was killed during an attack by revolutionary forces following the military council’s burning of civilian homes, as confirmed by a spokesperson from the Yadanabon Force. On May 25, approximately 100 soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members from Kan Gyi Kon village in Sagaing Township entered Mingun police station after crossing Setawlae. Subsequently, on May 28 at around 6 AM, soldiers and police from Mingun police station jointly advanced their troops toward Kyin village, located north of Mingun town.
When the military column reached Kyin village, they engaged in a five-hour battle with revolutionary forces. Due to the prolonged fighting, the revolutionary forces had to temporarily withdraw to regroup. During this time, military council soldiers entered Kyin village and burned down approximately 20 civilian homes, according to local sources. All residents of Kyin village were forced to flee as internally displaced persons (IDPs), and the number of IDPs in Sagaing Township has increased compared to previous figures. The military column, when leaving Kyin village around 4 PM, was attacked by a joint force comprising the Yadanabon Force, Sagaing District Battalion 1, Sagaing District Battalion 2, and Zone 4 forces.
During the battle, military council troops suffered casualties and retreated to Mingun police station, with one soldier confirmed dead according to battle reports. The attack was jointly carried out by multiple resistance groups including the Yadanabon Force, Zone 5 Mingun Township PDF, People Servant Force (PSF), Chanmyathazi Township PDF, Unicorn Guerrilla Force, Acid Local Defense Force, and other local allied forces. The resistance forces continue to emphasize the importance of providing effective support to all groups actively fighting on the ground, as stated by Ko Kiri, the leader of the Yadanabon Force, who called for practical assistance to all forces genuinely engaged in ground operations after proper verification and assessment.
