A representative from the Daung Razah Main Strike Committee in Budalin Township has confirmed that the military council forces raided five villages, arrested five civilians, and burned down more than 70 houses. On September 5, a military column of approximately 100 troops from Budalin town entered the villages, firing weapons during their raid. The military forces systematically destroyed homes across multiple villages, burning 3 houses in Shwe Taung village, 11 houses in Pauk Sein Pauk village, 28 houses in Kan Thar village, 14 houses in Zi Taw village, and 14 houses in Htoo Gyi village.
During their operation, the military column reportedly arrested five civilians along their route, using them as human shields. Sources indicate that these civilians may have been released before the troops entered Budalin town, though this information remains unconfirmed. The Daung Razah Main Strike Committee’s social welfare team has provided emergency assistance to displaced families, distributing 4 pyi of rice, 50 ticals of oil, 50 ticals of salt, and 1 viss of onions per household. However, there remains a significant shortage of food supplies for the affected populations. The civilians continue to stay away from their villages, fearing potential return raids by military forces.
Additionally, during August and September, another military column of approximately 300 troops from the Northwestern Command also conducted operations in the area, burning down West Zi Taw village, Shwe Taung village, Kan Thar village, and Htoo Gyi village (including a charity hospital) before withdrawing to their base on September 8. Local residents remain deeply concerned about potential further attacks by the military forces and are unable to return to their homes due to ongoing security concerns. The situation has created a humanitarian crisis in the area, with displaced civilians facing significant challenges in accessing basic necessities and safe shelter.
