
Local sources report that nearly 200 houses were destroyed after the military council burned down 11 villages in Minhla Township, Bago Region. The military forces began their operation on June 20, systematically entering the township and burning villages. The timeline of destruction by the military forces shows that on June 20, they burned 25 houses in Taungpyat Village New Quarter. On June 22, they destroyed 9 houses in Ywekon Village and U Tote Kywe Lane Village. On June 23, they burned down 91 houses across multiple villages including Bogyitaung Village, Sarchaung Village, Sin Ain Chaung Pauk Village, Gangawpin Village, and Nga Hla San Village. The destruction continued on June 24 with 5 houses burned in Sanbok Village, and on June 25, they destroyed 15 houses in Kwetma Village and 40 houses in Kywe Ma Kaing Village.
As of July 2, the military forces have continued their campaign of destruction, targeting Zarit Myaung Village and Shwe Pauk Pin Village. Due to these brutal actions by the military, local residents have been forced to abandon their homes, agricultural activities, and livelihoods to flee to safety. Local residents express concern that more villages may face similar destruction as military forces continue to reinforce their presence in the area. The systematic burning of villages has resulted in widespread displacement and destruction of civilian property, leaving communities devastated and forcing residents to seek refuge in safer locations.
