On September 2nd in Bago City, the military council-appointed Chief Minister of Bago Region, Myo Swe Win, met with village and ward administrators and Pyu Saw Htee leaders, distributing land plots as rewards. During the meeting, the Chief Minister expressed gratitude for their cooperation in security and stability matters. Subsequently, he allocated 106 plots of land from the government-controlled areas near Bago University, with each plot measuring 40 feet by 60 feet.
According to a source from Bago’s General Administration Department, the vacant lands near Bago College fall under the regional government’s administration. From these lands, 106 plots were distributed to the administrators. In addition to the land plots, food supplies and eggs were also provided to the recipients. The source confirmed that members of the people’s militia and senior administrative officials were among those who received the allocations.
Chief Minister Myo Swe Win instructed the administrators and Pyu Saw Htee members to continue their dutiful service to the state during the upcoming election period and post-election phase. Myo Swe Win is a former military officer who previously served as Deputy Police Chief 1 in the police force. Following the military coup, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing appointed him as the Chief Minister of Bago Region. This land distribution appears to be part of the military council’s strategy to maintain control and loyalty among local administrative personnel and militia members who support their governance structure.
