
According to military sources in Naypyidaw, terrorist military leader Min Aung Hlaing has issued directives to various government departments requiring mandatory voter participation in the upcoming election scheduled for December 28. The election will include 102 townships, and the directive instructs authorities to use various methods to compel public participation. These instructions have been distributed to military commands, government ministries, and the General Administration Department.
The entire election process will be led and managed by territorial military officers, with security measures extending from the start through vote counting. Government departments and election commission sub-committees are required to cooperate under military supervision. Mock voting exercises are being conducted at township and ward levels, with authorities forcing all citizens aged 18 and above to participate. It has been announced that citizens over 50 years old can cast advance votes.
In Hpa-an Township, Karen State, ward administrators are compelling citizens to participate in voting practice sessions, while in Mayangone Township, Yangon Region, authorities are collecting citizens’ identification cards and personal information while pressuring them to vote. The military council has announced it will conduct the election in phases, with the first phase covering 102 townships. Ward administration teams are systematically recording citizens’ personal information, and there are reports of threats against those who fail to participate in the voting process.
