A representative from the Chin National Army’s Information and Public Relations Department has confirmed that the military council forces and the Zomi Revolutionary Army (ZRA) launched an attack on CNA Brigade 4 camp in Tunzang, Chin State. The attack occurred around 6 AM on April 3, when the terrorist military forces and their allied ZRA troops, based along the India-Myanmar border in Manipur State, suddenly attacked the CNA Brigade 4 camp in Tunzang Township, Chin Lain area.
During the attack, the Chin State Government, Chin National Army, and allied forces mounted a defensive response, causing casualties among the ZRA forces and forcing them to retreat. During the battle, they managed to capture drones and weapons used by the ZRA forces. As the ZRA forces retreated, they burned down Nakzang village, which lay along their withdrawal route. In Nakzang village, which contained approximately 80 households, all structures except for a church were destroyed in the fire.
The residents of Nakzang village, located near the Manipur River, have now been forced to seek refuge in Tunzang town. The CNA Information and Public Relations Department stated that this attack took advantage of a temporary ceasefire period when humanitarian operations were underway to help people affected by the recent earthquake in Myanmar. The CNA Brigade 4 has issued a warning that they will counterattack the terrorist military forces and their subordinate ZRA forces if necessary for self-defense.
