
A spokesperson from the People’s Defense Force (Mandalay), Ko Aung Mon, confirmed that the terrorist military council’s forces attacked a funeral ceremony in Lan Lay Kyut village, Salingyi Township, Mandalay Region, using suicide drones and jet fighters, resulting in the death of 11 innocent civilians and injuries to more than 40 people. The incident occurred around 8 AM on August 8, when the military council forces launched a drone strike on a house where a funeral memorial service was being held. The attack killed 10 civilians instantly at the scene, while another person died the next day from sustained injuries.
Furthermore, around 8:30 AM, a jet fighter from the military council’s Tada-U Air Force Base conducted another attack, dropping 500-pound bombs. This attack damaged six houses in the village, according to local residents. Lan Lay Kyut village, which has over 200 households, is located approximately two miles south of the 7-Mile village where current fighting is taking place.
The military council forces frequently conduct deliberate targeted attacks against innocent civilians through airstrikes, drone attacks, and heavy artillery fire. Local defense forces have urged residents to remain vigilant about military activities and strictly follow air defense safety protocols. These intentional attacks on innocent civilians have severely disrupted the daily lives of local residents and created an atmosphere of fear and anxiety in the community.
